Follow-up Comment #1:

The text is produced by the glpk library itself, not by Octave. There is
nothing that Octave can do to stop a library from printing something directly
to stdout.

If you are using Debian or Ubuntu or other derivative, this is fixed in the
glpk package version 4.65-2 or later by patching the glpk library.
