Follow-up Comment #15, bug #55577 (project octave):

AFAICT that is the code that is being discussed here. The textscan function
calls lookup to handle its file descriptor argument. Both the
stream_list::lookup and stream_list::get_info functions now correctly error if
the argument is a single precision value.
