Follow-up Comment #1:
The debug log you attached isn't really useful for this kind of problem. It
would be better to get a gdb stack trace, can you provide this?
Even better would be to update to Octave 5.1.0 and see if the problem
persists, is that option easily available to you? I'm not familiar with the
Void distribution, I don't know if it's binary or source based or if you built
Octave yourself, but 5.1.0 is the latest stable release.
Even if you can't upgrade, at the very least please try to run octave with gdb
and attach a gdb stack trace with debug symbols.
