Follow-up Comment #9, bug #55823 (project octave):

@philip Can you give an example for reproducing without the io package? What
is the relation between xls.workbook and readtest.m? There's a lot of code
there, but it looks to me like there is a cd to that directory, then a cd
back, followed by the rmdir? Maybe the changing of working directory is what's
causing the response in the editor?
