Details:
May be I am missing something, but there does not seem to be a high-level way
to create a global attribute, at least not a documented one. What seems to
work is
ncwriteatt(ncfile, netcdf_getConstant("global"), "Conventions", "CF-1.6")
but that throws character conversion warnings, so I am not really sure what
I'm doing.
