Follow-up Comment #1, bug #56030 (project octave):
Just to check that I'm not going silly, I just opened the 4.4.1 version, and
it's behaving far more as I remember - i.e., things happen as one would expect
...
Note that I have only tentatively investigated Octave; have never done serious
work with it.
