Follow-up Comment #6, bug #47755 (project octave):

Certainly not. It is due to the fact, that classdef is not 100% Matlab
compatible yet. Recently, jwe improved things a lot, but it consumes a lot of
time. If you feel able to improve this for Octave 6, please don't hesitate to
send us patches for this particular problem.
Otherwise you should stay with the first calling scheme to be compatible with
both Octave and Matlab.
