Follow-up Comment #3, bug #56187 (project octave): It's not a dealbreaker for me personally. But I think there are a lot of Octave users who value being able to define a set of global functions in a single include file. If we could support this feature as well as provide a way to continue to include or source functions from a file into the global namespace, I think that would make everyone happy.
