@Juan Pablo: Thanks for confirming the fix.

@Philip: I am not sure of all possible implications that change might have. If
I correctly understood the result of the mailing list thread about the
upcoming 5.1 release, it will get only some basic testing.
Since this change results in different behavior when loading packages, I tend
towards leaving it for the upcoming major release which will probably get a
lot more testing.

Closing as fixed for now. But if someone thinks that decision is too
conservative, they can still graft it to stable.
