Details:

Trying to build from source on a fresh ubuntu 18.10 debian linux system is a
nightmare. Long trial and error install of required packages. Gfortran, curl
readline, mkoctfile, packages etc... there are so many and wiki is not helping
enough. 
Not talking about the optionals but basics requirements for gui, and basic
usage.
I can contribute to provide some instructions but so far didn't managed to
install
