Details:

I just installed Debian 10 (bullseye), the current testing and tried to buiuld
Octave.
I am able to compile current dev binaries successfully, using this
dependencies:


sudo apt-get install gcc g++ gfortran make libblas-dev liblapack-dev
libpcre3-dev libarpack2-dev libcurl4-gnutls-dev epstool libfftw3-dev fig2dev
libfltk1.3-dev libfontconfig1-dev libfreetype6-dev libgl2ps-dev libglpk-dev
libreadline-dev gnuplot libgraphicsmagick++1-dev libhdf5-dev openjdk-13-jdk
libsndfile1-dev llvm-dev texinfo libgl1-mesa-dev libosmesa6-dev pstoedit
portaudio19-dev libjack-jackd2-dev libqhull-dev libqrupdate-dev libqt5core5a
qtbase5-dev qttools5-dev qttools5-dev-tools
libqscintilla2-qt5-dev libsuitesparse-dev texlive libxft-dev zlib1g-dev
autoconf automake bison flex gperf gzip icoutils librsvg2-bin libtool perl
rsync tar libsundials-dev git mercurial


However, make later fails while building the docs:


  MAKEINFO ../doc/interpreter/octave.info
  TEXI2DVI doc/interpreter/octave.dvi
  MAKEINFO doc/interpreter/octave.html/.octave-html-stamp
/usr/bin/texi2dvi: etex exited with bad status, quitting.
make[2]: *** [Makefile:31069: doc/interpreter/octave.dvi] Fehler 1
make[2]: *** Es wird auf noch nicht beendete Prozesse gewartet....
make[2]: Verzeichnis „/home/kinder/usr/octave-default/BUILD“ wird
verlassen
make[1]: *** [Makefile:27399: all-recursive] Fehler 1
make[1]: Verzeichnis „/home/kinder/usr/octave-default/BUILD“ wird
verlassen
make: *** [Makefile:11034: all] Fehler 2


Debian testing currently contains Octave 5.1.0.
I think it is neccessary to be in Debian testing to be included in the next
Ubuntu LTS
