Update of bug #58235 (project octave):
Item Group: Missed Error or Warning => Unexpected Error
Status: None => Need Info
Summary: xlsopen does not work => [octave-forge](io)
xlsopen does not work with UNO interface

Follow-up Comment #1:
io-2.4.13 is "old", please try io-2.6.1.
Exactly what commands did you use to open the file? That's what I need to try
to reproduce this issue, not just output from the Octave terminal.
Furthermore, Octave + io package should be able to read .xlsx files w/o
external support files. UNO (LibreOffice) can be advantageous, sure, but for
simple reading you can also try with the OCT interface.
FYI, gauged by the number of bug / help mailing list reports the UNO interface
isn't used that often and it is a fragile interface at that. So in a way I'm
quite glad to see someone using it :-)
