Follow-up Comment #6, bug #58240 (project octave): I just had a look into the Matlab help for this function and there is no hint on the specific representation that is returned. Therefore I am not sure if the user can expect a specific representation, neither in Octave nor in Matlab, and if the returned form may change in the future. So, if we change the behavior, I also suggest the switch.
