the bug you are reporting is that 'step(sys)' tries to plot too many points
and overloads the Octave OpenGL plotting system, while 'step(ss(sys))' works
as a workaround and does plot the correct figure. Is that accurate?
step() and lsim() create simulations that are completely wrong, the
simulations seem to be unstable which create very large values and the plot
window errors.
so 2 problems:
1: simulation is incorrect, gives incorrect values, not even close
2. plot window can't handle very large (probably inf) values
