Follow-up Comment #3, bug #58522 (project octave):
To know for sure, someone would need to build Octave using all the --without
lines from the no-extras configuration, but with the inclusion of fontconfig.
Easiest way might be to modify the no-extras buildbot configuration
temporarily, force the running of the buildbot rather than waiting for a
schedule, and see what happens.
