Details:

How to reproduce:
1. Open a .m file in Octave
2. Start editing it, make sure that some autocompletion pops up
3. Accept the completion
4. Try to save the file with ctrl+s

Expected outcome: the file is saved
Actual outcome: the GUI doesn't react to keyboard shortcuts until the editor
is clicked.
