Follow-up Comment #70, bug #57591 (project octave): Thanks for the patch 1.) I checked whether my segfault occurs at the same position as Dimitri's (see comment #55). Result: Yes, it does. 2.) I applied JWE's patch (comment #69) and made a clang build. Result: no segfault with unset DISPLAY. Then stopped with lldb at "octave::graphics_toolkit::close at graphics-toolkit.h:279". One further step goes to "gnuplot_graphics_toolkit::close at __init_gnuplot__.cc:151".
