Follow-up Comment #1, bug #59128 (project octave): The default font is determined via QFont::setStyleHint (QFont::Monospace) which should give the default monospace font of the system. Please find attached a patch that uses "Monaco" on macOS instead. The settings file should be located at $HOME/.config/octave/octave-gui.ini Does Octave show the welcome wizard after you have removed the config directory?
