Follow-up Comment #4, bug #59215 (project octave): Yeah, it seems Windows' unambiguous way to find Java has fallen victim to what looks like "change for the sake of change". OTOH maybe we've been relying on this mechanism a little too much. Since some time the JAVA_HOME environment setting also works fine on Windows so there's at least another fall-back option.
