@Rik, thanks for your test!
IIUC "__cxa_finalize_ranges" seems to be a system
function responsible of clearing global and static
variable memory, so even though the issue is different
it may not be completely unrelated ...
it may well be macos only, but it is definitely
new in 6.0.91 as I just tested with octave 4.4
and 5.1 and cannot get similar crashes ...
I'll look more into it an maybe post a separate bug report.
