Follow-up Comment #24, bug #58526 (project octave):

I was trying to understand the cause of the strange behavior months ago, but
it was very involved due my lack of experience on the octave core code.
Finally I become busy with another project, so I did not have enough time to
find the reason.

I understand that it is reasonable to ignore gnuplot issues if at some point
it is going to be deprecated.
