Details:

This issue appears right after starting typing CJK characters with IBus in the
command window. Copy-pasting CJK characters does not trigger the bug.

== Steps to Reproduce ==

1. Install IBus and one of the CJK input methods, ex. Anthy
2. Execute "octave --gui"
3. Select Anthy input method and switch to Hiragana mode
4. Type some random hiragana in the command window

== Actual Result ==

On my machine, CPU usage of octave-gui goes from 0% to 10% when idling. The
CPU usage keeps around 10% until quitting Octave.

== Expected Result ==

Typing CJK characters in GUI command window does not raise CPU usage
permanently.
