URL: <https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?59327> Summary: Using IBus input method in GUI command window bumps up CPU usage permanently Project: GNU Octave Submitted by: None Submitted on: Fri 23 Oct 2020 04:53:40 PM UTC Category: GUI Severity: 3 - Normal Priority: 5 - Normal Item Group: None Status: None Assigned to: None Originator Name: Luis Kao Originator Email: kogiokkafrms@gmail.com Open/Closed: Open Release: 5.2.0 Discussion Lock: Any Operating System: GNU/Linux _______________________________________________________ Details: This issue appears right after starting typing CJK characters with IBus in the command window. Copy-pasting CJK characters does not trigger the bug. == Steps to Reproduce == 1. Install IBus and one of the CJK input methods, ex. Anthy 2. Execute "octave --gui" 3. Select Anthy input method and switch to Hiragana mode 4. Type some random hiragana in the command window == Actual Result == On my machine, CPU usage of octave-gui goes from 0% to 10% when idling. The CPU usage keeps around 10% until quitting Octave. == Expected Result == Typing CJK characters in GUI command window does not raise CPU usage permanently. == Additional Information == Operating System: Fedora 32 KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.73.0 Qt Version: 5.14.2 Kernel Version: 5.8.15-201.fc32.x86_64 OS Type: 64-bit Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i5-8265U CPU @ 1.60GHz Memory: 7.5 GiB of RAM _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?59327> _______________________________________________ Message sent via Savannah https://savannah.gnu.org/
