Follow-up Comment #3, bug #59373 (project octave): Separately, we might consider limiting the visibility of Octave functions, but that's a pretty big undertaking as Octave is a large project and we currently export all non-static symbols. Determining which symbols should be exported will likely take a lot of time and effort. See also bug #34301.
