Follow-up Comment #17, bug #56143 (project octave):
Hard to say. In my testing, I have not noticed any freeziness with the Octave
6 Release Candidate, so it may well be fixed. But I haven't spent _all_ that
much time with it yet.
Here's the Octave.app 6.0.90 Release Candidate build 1 if anyone else wants to
test it out on Mac:
