Follow-up Comment #58, bug #59432 (project octave):

1)
In fact the behavior is very special, as having a dynamic.

There are times where the crash does not occur.
In that case, a kind of random error message is sometimes displayed in the
console (see appended file)

2)
When commenting out the legend function, I could not reproduce neither the
crash nor the random messages (after a reasonable number of trials).

3)
Replacing the legend function with that of ver 5.2, I could not reproduce
neither the crash nor the random messages (after a reasonable number of
trials).
