Follow-up Comment #12, bug #56958 (project octave):

@gyom: You can use the function asis. The work on the latex interpreter is
independent and won't change the interface to the text_renderer class. 
As for bbox, it will always be [0 0 columns rows], unless you specify the
vertical and/or horizontal alignment, in which case the 2 first elements (the
anchor) will change.
