Follow-up Comment #7, bug #59648 (project octave):

I agree that it might be related or the same as bug #57241. This one did not
come up when I did my initial search. That bug is reported to be specific to
linux and opengl, but it sounds like it might be a more general problem, since
something that seems similar also happens with windows. I don't think subplot
is needed to produce the problem. Could they be combined and listed as a bug
for all systems?
