Follow-up Comment #5, bug #59704 (project octave):

I'm not able to review because I don't understand possible side effects of
that change.
I wonder if this is the correct place to fix this.
Should the lvalue list be scoped differently in this case?

CC'ing jwe because I hope he'll better understand that part of the code.
