Follow-up Comment #14, bug #59711 (project octave):

regarding your network shares concern, I recall bug #49203 and bug #31080
recently addressing issues of Octave file checking over networks.  Seems that
had more to do with file modified dates so Octave sees new and updated files,
and unique quirks in how Windows server and ntfs implement such things in a
non-standard way. not sure if there's any relation between that and this
issue, though.
