Follow-up Comment #1, bug #60514 (project octave):
The function `toascii` should be replaced with `double` in `anovan.m`.
In the meantime, you could work around that by manually mapping the function,
e.g. with something like this:
function a = toascii(c), a = double(c); endfunction
a=rand(6,1);
b=[1,1,1,2,2,2]';
c=[1,2,1,2,1,2]';
anovan(a, [b,c])
