Follow-up Comment #2, bug #60857 (project octave):

In a bit more detail: With that command, the interpreter tries to call the
function "sequence1" and index its first output argument (presumably a struct
or object) with ".m". That result would be passed as an input argument to the
function "source".

It looks like "sequence1.m" is a script - not a function. So, the error
message looks correct to me.
