Follow-up Comment #35, bug #60016 (project octave): Octave 6 is currently on the stable branch. The stable branch is mainly for fixing bugs or regressions found in the currently stable version of Octave. Changes that add new features or new dependencies should be done on the default branch instead. Of course, there are exceptions to that rule of thump. One of those is e.g. if a new dependency fixes a bug.
