Follow-up Comment #1, bug #61259 (project octave):
Out of curiosity, is there any performance difference between print and
saveas?
The gl2ps thing is certainly odd but it doesn't explain why converting to
raster formats is slow as well. It also doesn't explain the superlinear
scaling as the number of points increases.
