Follow-up Comment #1:

The Octave Forge website has an outdated version (Octave 4.4 or so) but, IIUC,
no one knows how to update it. Furthermore, if it was up to date, you would
probably get Octave 6.4 documentation, like in Octave's own web site
(https://octave.org/doc/v6.4.0/index.html) rather than 5.2...  

Anyway, if you want to access the html version of the help text you can just
run e.g. "doc eig" in an Octave command window. This will open the doc browser
and you will get the doc for your exact version.

I'll close this report as won't fix since we cannot do much about the version
mismatch in general. See also this recent revived discussion on the subject:
