Follow-up Comment #3:
My question had better be "why do we see this only now?" and it's more out of
curiosity.
I saw a few more seealso's followed by a space, even in a function
(parsecell.m) where AFAIK the texinfo header has been essentially untouched
since I think 2010 or maybe even earlier (I wrote it in 2009).
On Windows I don't see this issue either; but Texinfo in mxe-octave is at 6.7
as well.
Anyway I'll fix it.
