URL: <https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?62277> Summary: QR needs to accept "econ" argument for Matlab compatibility Project: GNU Octave Submitted by: arungiridhar Submitted on: Sat 09 Apr 2022 07:30:46 AM EDT Category: None Severity: 3 - Normal Priority: 5 - Normal Item Group: Matlab Compatibility Status: None Assigned to: None Originator Name: Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Release: dev Discussion Lock: Any Operating System: Any _______________________________________________________ Details: Recent Matlab versions accept the "econ" input keyword for the qr function that will allow for the reduced QR decomposition for tall and narrow input matrices. Octave currently errors on the econ keyword. Someone expressed interest in implementing this at https://octave.discourse.group/t/octave-project-idea-more-memory-efficient-qr/2507/2 The memory-efficient reduced QR was already listed as a project at https://wiki.octave.org/Projects What's a good way to proceed for compatibility when the functionality isn't there yet? Accept "econ" and treat it as full QR? _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?62277> _______________________________________________ Message sent via Savannah https://savannah.gnu.org/
