Follow-up Comment #3, bug #62328 (project octave):
> I cannot reproduce (because the function `datemnth` is neither part of the
financial package from Octave Forge nor part of core Octave).
>
> Where did you get that function from? Apart from the commands Dmitri already
sent, `which datemnth` could give a hint...
> OK, sorry about the confusion. When I tried to call the datemnth function,
it mentioned something about loading the financial package. That was why I
loaded the financial package in the first line. But when I went back to
execute the >> help datemnth command in the start up folder, I got "error:
help: The 'datemnth' function belongs to the financial package from Octave
Forge but has not yet been implemented." I then realized that the code that
I posted worked in another folder, and there is a local function datemnth.
Looks like it is a local function that I wrote two years ago and I forgot
about it. :( Obviously there is a bug in it. I will look into it myself.
Thanks for your responses.
