Follow-up Comment #28, bug #62282 (project octave):

Markus, for ls functionality, I did not read the document. 

By reading it the way it it, ls probably should not be in window OS
distribution.  It was meant for a software developer, not for a simple user
like me.  It used to be good for me.  

I should give up ls and adapt dir instead. dir must be consistent with DOS.
