Follow-up Comment #7, bug #62352 (project octave):

I was wondering - what series of events acuatlly happen when the ini file is
not found? We've examined ini files that were 'causing' crashes before
(assumed because deleting the file allows the gui to open again), but haven't
seen anything obviously wrong with those files.

is it possible there's something else wrong/changed, but deleting the ini file
causes a corrected to that change even if the ini wasn't the problem? I
noticed on the next startup octave acts as if it's a new install and opens the
first start wizard.  does that do anything else that could actually be the
corrective action?
