Apologies for this oversight. This sometimes happens, inadvertently.
BTW, signal is at 1.4.2 now, did you check if the fix is included there now,
of did you mix up release numbers?

I wasn't involved in the release process, but what I *guess* is that the
package maintainer hasn't been active lately and the new release was made by
the mxe-octave (Windows) maintainers to be able to include it with a new
Windows installer that required other signal package fixes to avoid crashes
and hard errors.
That mxe-octave maintainers had to do a lot of other work for that new Windows
installer so I'm not surprised if they didn't hunt for more work, rather did
the minimum to get the signal working again with newer Octave, and that way
concentrated on getting forward with their actual project, i.e. the mxe-octave
Windows installer.

Again, sorry that your contribution got ignored. Hopefully it'll be picked up
and pushed soon.
