Follow-up Comment #1:
For starters, test.m is also a function in core Octave so there are three
versions of a function with the same name. It's bad practice to shadow a core
function with your own so I would at least re-code to use something generic
like "myfcn.m".
The real question is what is the use case that can't be solved by by some
other coding strategy?
