Follow-up Comment #2, bug #63773 (project octave):

Sorry for breaking that.

I'm not sure what part of my change made it so that the image object is not
being found as the current object by Canvas::select_object when called from
Canvas::canvasMousePressEvent.  If I set the ButtonDownFcn for the figure
instead of the image object, it *is* called.
