Follow-up Comment #26, bug #42583 (project octave):

I'm not sure this is related, but some years ago I was having some strange
crashes and it turned out that the issue was related
 to linking to two different versions of BLAS and LAPACK at the same time
because the qrupdate I was linking to was statically linked  to a different
version than that I was explicitly linking to ...
Could there be a similar problem here?
