Follow-up Comment #4:

Thank you for the report. As Dmitri said, \ will still work as a mathematical
operator. It is also a special character in certain string that represented
line continuation. That syntax is deprecated, not the operator syntax.  We can
review the warning messages and ensure there isn’t any confusion.
