Follow-up Comment #8, bug #61855 (project octave):
I was the person who reported comment #2. I found a workaround if it helps
anyone:
1. Build Octave with all symbols exported, that is use
"--disable-lib-visibility-flags" to configure.
2. pkg install -forge communications
It won't help you with precompiled binaries though.
