I attempted to do just this with the readline changes I made a few months back, but from not satisfying way of getting it completely correct. Check the changelog in liboctave for readline changes should give you an idea of what I tried. The issue I had was that adding the quotes was easy enough, but then that confused readline for completion of sub-directories.

I have  recogined that the file filesperator should not be changed.

To use the pkg system, the even octave-msvc uses the msys system.
The requirement for the msys on Japanese windows is that the path should be quated by double quatation
" if the path includes the '\' ; like "c:/aa\bb.m".


Perhaps I think that no problem occuerred the path quated by "" on other unixy systems.
At least, the use of

#ifdef __win32__ 

(codes)

#endif
decrease the effects.

So I would like to the quate the path by "" when path includes '\'.

The problem is that I could not find the .c or .cc file to which I can consider the patch.

The problem is perhaps for specific for Japanese windows so that it is not in reality an
urgent problem.

What I would like to say is that to which file I can consider the patch.
Please tell me what it is.
