Jacob, Ben,A few small changes to __gnuplot_drawnow__.m and a line of code in octave-gui.cc makes the GUI/IDE+O (GUIDE+O!) use gnuplot Qt terminal if it is available:
https://savannah.gnu.org/patch/index.php?7847The approach uses GNUTERM environment variable which keeps the user interface and core Octave fairly separate. octave-cli and GUIDE+O without gnuplot Qt support falls back on the current defaults.
