Michael,I just sent a post describing what I did to get the "dlgtest(0)" command to run. On Fedora 14 I found
JAVA_HOME='/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.6.0-openjdk-1.6.0.0.x86_64/bin' export JAVA_HOMEto be the spot where all the java-related binaries are. At least that allows dlgtest to proceed further, at which point I'm having problems finding octave.jar. If you are able to get that far and have compiled in the source directory rather than a different build directory, please let me know if "dlgtest(0)" works for you.
