Build error in tar while invoking make dist

Subject: Build error in tar while invoking make dist

Using tonight's tip (16522:bfff338c56d1 tip), while doing "make -j2 all dist"
I get:

:
tar:
octave-3.7.2+/doc/interpreter/octave.html/How-to-distinguish-between-Octave-and-_003cspan-class_003d_0022sc_0022_003ematlab_003c_002fspan_003e_003f.html:
file name is too long (cannot be split); not dumped
tar: Exiting with failure status due to previous errors

The error message is self-evident, the solution seems easy, but why does it
happen now and not with yesterday's tip? AFAICS nothing happened with the
doc sections and all changesets since yesterday only apply to the GUI.

More info:

- Mageia Linux 2 (fully updated)

- I removed the source & build tree (mixed them up today), hg-clone'd and
built anew. Yesterday's build ran OK.

address@hidden oct372+]$ tar --version
tar (GNU tar) 1.26

Philip
