Hello, I recompiled Octave with the Qt backend (the gui branch) and the example provided by Michael is working really great, I suppose this are very good news because I was concerned if the ui functions were developed enough to make the sisotool. I will be learning the ui functions that you sent me in the mail and will try to do what I had before with them.

How could I recompile octave without compiling everything again? because so far each compile has  taken almost 2 hours to complete I was hoping to make this faster.

For what we are doing you don't need to recompile any more.
I would like to start by making a "uibode2fgm.m"
ie use the bode2f that I gave you, and using a panel, and menus, make a stand alone bode that plots the pole and zeroes and allows one to grab and move the open loop poles, we can start with just real poles. We should also display the "gain margin {GM} and phase margin {PM}" in little display boxes on the screen.

What do you think ? Is this a good starting point?
